sweat it out.

i've only had the opportunity of playing dance dance revolution once at a friend's house, and despite my killer dance ability i was not very good. i had the once in a lifetime chance to witness the ddr jedi master in action tonight at the mall. hair receding, sweat around the collar, completely unaware of his surroundings...he danced. first slow, then progressively faster; i tried not to laugh. the man had perfected his craft. i thought he was finished as he reached down for his water bottle, only to watch him ceremoniously wash the dance surface with a moistened rag. he picked up again without losing the beat. i stared in amazement, still trying not to laugh, as i realized he gets a better workout than i do. but he doesn't do it for his health, he does it for the love of the dance.
revolution baby.

Eeew, I could totally imagine him. I do have to say that I love doing DDR with my nieces and nephews who have it at their house, but I'm definitely not a die hard and would never do it in public!

He's probably in better shape than I am. So sad. I tried this game over Christmas time and it just made me realize that my dreams of becoming a great coordinated dancer will never come true! In my case, white girl can't dance.

I have seen some of these people in action myself. Definalty not something I would ever be able to even do, let alone try it in public . . .but dance on those that sure enjoy it!

we did ddr for our family reunion. We even got my 85 year old grandma up there. It was hilarious. But I have to admit their was no sweating. When I picture the guy you saw, I picture Napolean Dynamite with a sweatband.

After DDR came Guitar Hero. It isn't as good of a workout but there are many that are equally as addicted to it. That would be ME!
I just started a blog for our family. Check it out.
