heirloom.

ever since i found out we were having a girl with evie, i wanted her to have a picture in this red dress. i remembered seeing a picture of my only sister in it when she was about evie's age and thought it was a cool story. this dress was hand-made for evie's great-great-great-great grandma sadler in 1871. they had to ride a wagon up to salt lake to buy the fabric. i couldn't believe how in-tact in still is after nearly 140 years. there is something to be said for the craftsmanship of things made in that period that is missing today. i also thought it was neat because we rarely see heirlooms these days that have a story behind them.

So I can't believe how dark red it is! You would think it would have faded by now. It shows what quality CAN be made....if only the manufacterers didn't want us to keep buying and buying.

anyway, Evie looks so beautiful in that dress.

How is Greg feeling? What can we do for you guys? dinner? so I totally had plans to make dinner for you last Friday and I feel terrible because I didn't even make dinner for us! Can I bring something by in the next few days??

I did not know the story behind that dress. I am going to have to get a picture of my girls in that dress when they are a little older. Love that Evie!

Skateboarding. Broke my tibia and fibula. The tibia was a compound fracture and broke through the skin down by my ankle. I can't walk for 6 weeks!
