Evie turned 6 years old last October! We love her so much and are so grateful that she's a part of our family! 
For her party, she wanted a mystery theme, so Greg and I came up with this whole "Birthday Bandit" idea. We had a neighbor dress up in a disguise and we showed the girls his mugshot and said he'd been seen in the area trying to steal presents from parties. So the girls got secret agent badges with new code names, practiced moving around quietly to mystery music, and got disguises so they wouldn't be recognized. At the end of the party, they went on a scavenger hunt to find the bandit and caught him not only stealing the presents, but also trying to snag some cake on his way out. They attacked him with punch-balloons and he was never seen again!
We didn't anticipate this scaring anyone (especially since we resorted to telling them it was one of their dads...which it was :)) but I guess we underestimated the 5 and 6-year-old female imagination...we had some tears and a few requests to go home...oops! I guess this may have been more appropriate for 9-year-old boys!!

What a clever fun idea. I am going to have to put this one away in my brain. My boys would have thought it was so cool!!
