The last week in June, Greg was playing in a work softball game, and acquired quite the injury. As he was approaching 2nd base, he heard a pop and fell to the ground. At first, he thought it was just an ankle sprain, but a few ex-rays later proved otherwise. He had a slip-fracture on his left fibula and it required surgery. He had a plate and 4 screws put in, not to mention about 14 staples to hold it all together. He was in a hard cast for two weeks and a removable cast for four more weeks. Not only did it make for a lot of pain and a nasty scar, but it pretty much killed the summer.
This was taken 2 weeks after the surgery.

And this was taken after the staples were removed.

Wow, Greg and Ken Harrison had quite the accidents this year!!! That is one nasty scar. I hope he is more healed by now. When I saw the birthday pictures I was wondering what happened.
Wow. I will admit, that is quite nasty looking. Hopefully it looks a lot better now!? Happy Birthday greg. Again!
holy crap! i can't believe you had to get surgery for that! Take it easy when you play soft ball!!
What a bummer, Greg! But that is a really cool scar. I have to admit, I am totally fascinated by stuff like that. I'm glad you posted the pictures b/c I was bummed I didn't get to see when he showed everyone at the park.
So how much will that go down in the future? Will it affect his ankle forever, or does the doctor expect a full recovery? I hope it's all good news from here on out for you.
Ouch! That looks awful,I can barely look at the pictures without squirming. So sorry Greg!
