so, we're doing our family christmas a little early since we are going to be with al's family on christmas day. evie has been pretty excited about the whole santa thing. we were worried that she was missing the point about the Savior's birth and all the most important christmas things. however, tonight at dinner, we were talking about leaving cookies for santa and carrots for the reindeer. when we brought up the part about the carrots, she informed us that they are "for the camels too." (for those of you who don't remember, the wise men rode on camels. haha.) all i have to say is we better put out some more cookies, because it's going to be a packed house tonight.
this is evie's first letter to santa transcribed by her dad:
dear santa,
thank you for the presents. i am 3 years old. i stayed in my bed and i'm going to stay in my bed again (parent's understand that this is a great measure of whether a child has been bad or good.) we put up our decorations. for christmas i would like a play thing for my dolls where they can live. we put the presents under the tree. eat the cookies and feed the carrots to the reindeer. merry christmas to you!
