growing up, my mom played a game with the kids that allyson and i have started to play with evie; i could be wrong, but i am pretty sure it is something my mom's family did growing up too. it's called "this is all we have", and you play it whenever it's bad weather and you're stuck inside. i remember when the power would go out during bad thunderstorms in va, we would all jump on the couch with our mom in the family room under a blanket and my mom would pull us in and say "this is all we have"; we would pretend that we just had each other and the blanket. that's it. i know it sounds too simple to be fun, but it is and it makes you glad to have a place to be when the weather's bad. you should try it sometime.

cute, good idea! I'll take any ideas to make snuggling with mommy more fun for a toddler.
We play that game at our house too! Oh the memories of playing that game on the family room couches.
when the lights went out in NH we played spooky house! we would start off by hiding in separate places. one person would be it. we would try to sneak around to find where my mom was hiding and hide with her. the trick was to sneak around and find mom without getting caught by "it". Usually we would all end up in some dark corner snuggling with my mom and giggling until "it" found us.
That is such a cute game. I have never heard of it, but I can definatly see how imaginations could have fun with it.
I love this game. I love that our moms used to go downstairs and open up the window during a snowstorm to play it. I love hearing your mom talk about this story. I love that you still play it with Evie.
Weed be jammin'!
