Five Going on 20...

We were playing Cootie tonight, when Allyson asked Evie if any of her friends play Cootie. She promptly said Eric does. We assumed it was her little friend Eric from primary, so Allyson asked "Oh, Eric So-and-so?" Evie quickly responded, "No, Uncle Eric.", like it wasn't weird at all.

This is a picture from a few years ago of Evie and her "friend", Eric.

Evie has had grown-up friends from day one. When she was two, her best friends were Alyssa and Alli. I believe they were 23 at the time. Our neighbors, Nate and Maegen (or Mae-Mae as Evie called her) were also some of her favorite grown-ups. She has always had a special friendship with her uncles, Nick and Eric (they have both been at BYU since she was tiny and she always loved when they came over). Several of her friend's mothers have laughed when Evie invites them to come play with the kids. Anyone who has ever had a conversation with Evie has most likely been surprised with some of the things that come out of her mouth. She just thinks she's one of the adults (the product of being an only child)...which Allyson and I have realized can be a problem when trying to reason with her. Most of the time, though, she just keeps us laughing.

I remember when Evie was 2 and she was like my favorite person to have a conversation with. I love that girl. Alli and Alyssa still think Evie is their best friend:)
